Honking Dogs on the road with Subaru

Cici and I love to travel. We traveled for a few years in our Subaru Legacy station wagon. We drove all over California, Oregon and Nevada. The Subaru got great gas mileage and had lots of room. Cici took up the back seat filled with pillows and toys. She slept while I did the heavy driving. When we got to the destination, she would shake off and be ready to roll. Her excitement at discovering a new place, having an adventure, was contagious.  She is my polka dot princess now with  four different beds to sleep on, her choice every day and night. She is also my best friend and has earned her place by my side. She has her own driver’s license now so the next road trip we go on, she is gonna take the wheel and head out on the highway. Born to be Cici…

F9E60FBF-09EB-3C2B-4603-64CC755EF2EA-l

We got her new driver’s license from the Subaru Facebook page. It is the same interactive app that we had fun with when watching the Puppy Bowl last weekend. Have you used the app yet? Just download the “IntoNow” app on your tablet or mobile device here  http://blogp.ws/Wxa8ia   There are all kinds of nifty applications… you can even find the perfect Subaru for your dog (The Subaru Dog Matchmaker) and other goodies. Check it out!

Alas, our Subaru Legacy had more than 260,000 miles on it so we need a new vehicle to drive to the beach, dog park, and everywhere. We would love another Subaru, maybe a Forester. We miss driving to the shopping mall (Petco and Pet Smart), the banks (where she would always get cookies and treats from the nice people), and even the grocery store. Cici loves to meet and greet new people. And if there is food involved, even better.

Beep beep beep beep the horn went beep beep beep… do you remember the song, Little Nash Rambler? I imagine that is how Cici would drive the car, beeping the horn the whole way…

Beep beep beep beep
His horn went beep beep beep
While riding in my Subaru
What to my surprise
A little Nash Rambler was following me
About one third my size
The guy musta wanted to pass me up
As he kept on tooting his horn
I’ll show him that a Subaru is not a car to scorn
Beep beep beep beep
His horn went beep beep beep

[Slowly]
I pushed my foot down to the floor
To give the guy the shake
But the little Nash Rambler stayed right behind
He still had on his brake
He musta thought his car had more guts
As he kept on tooting his horn (beep beep)
I’ll show him that a Subaru is not a car to scorn
Beep beep beep beep
His horn went beep beep beep

[Normal speed]
My car went into passing gear
And we took off with gust (whoosh)
Soon we were going ninety
Musta left him in the dust
When I peeked in the mirror of my car
I couldn’t believe my eyes
The little Nash Rambler was right behind
You’d think that guy could fly
Beep beep beep beep
His horn went beep beep beep

[Quickly]
Now we were doing a hundred and ten
This certainly was a race
For a Rambler to pass a Subaru
Would be a big disgrace
The guy musta wanted to pass me up
As he kept on tooting his horn (beep beep)
I’ll show him that a Subaru is not a car to scorn
Beep beep beep beep
His horn went beep beep beep

[Very quickly]
Now we’re going a hundred twenty
As fast as I can go
The Rambler pulled along side of me
As if we were going slow
The fella rolled down his window
And yelled for me to hear
“Hey buddy how do I get this car outta second gear?”

Cici has cat issues so when I bring her to meet Grant Weber at the Subaru lot, she will let the kitties know she is boss if there are any felines around.

It is a good thing that Grant Weber knows how to speak dog and caters to each breed. He knows how to give each dog what they need and the best deal. You know that poodles want different accommodations and specifications than German Shepherds, right. And polka dot princesses need extra comfort, cargo space and zoom for their bucks. You could say that Subaru is an equal opportunity mutt pleaser. And yet, their doggie commercials are just as much fun for humans. Don’t you agree?

This post is sponsored by Subaru. we are helping spread the woof about the Dog Tested. Dog Approved.™ campaign, because [Have Dog Blog Will Travel] only shares news for things we love and support. All opinions are mine.

Pet friendly Oyster

The world is your oyster… Oyster.com claims that they know the best hotels and the difference between what the hotel websites say and look like and what the real deal is when you get there in person.  This is important because when you register for a venue sight unseen you want to know that you are going to get to the location destination and not get a crappy hotel for a big price. And hotel websites often feature their amenities in the best light, even photoshopping photos and making their hotel look better than they do in person, up close and personal. Oyster has other categories besides best pet friendly hotels… luxury, romantic, kid friendly, best value and best period.  They show photos and prices and provide info about policies and amenities.

Unlike here at our blog, they only seem to have covered BIG CITIES… there are no listings for Mendocino, Carmel, Monterey nor Palm Springs, for example. GIven that Mendocino and Carmel are both known as THE PET FRIENDLIEST cities in the USA, besides a few other cities, Portland and Seattle, come to mind, this seems strange. But also they do NOT list Best Pet friendly hotels for San Diego, nor Silicon Valley (San Jose area) either. And they also do not list best pet friendly hotels for Chicago, and big cities in Florida (Orlando, Fort Lauderdale), not to mention other states like Texas, Georgia, and the rest of the USA. And they do NOT list B&B’s. And they also do not list pet friendly dining, dog parks and other dog friendly activities in the area like we do here.

oh by the way, just created a new Facebook page for Polka Dot Princess travels, please like and share far and wide, thanks…

our new FB page at https://www.facebook.com/CeliaSueInk

Well, apparently, on their blog, they have more info on pet friendly hotels and places…such as this photo and info about one hotel in Carmel….

tradewinds-carmel

It’s just not a “home away from home” unless we have our four-legged friends by our side. But luckily for us, the staff at the Tradewinds Carmel in Monterey County is about as pet-friendly as they come. In fact, Furball and Foofers consider the boutique more of a human-friendly spot where they can bring their owners along if they so choose. At check-in, you’ll have to make sure the front-desk puts room keys into the right paws!

my boyfriend and I took a road trip from Chicago to DC with our dog.

our stay at Hotel Madera – it’s a Kimpton

property (all Kimpton properties are dog friendly). For my dog, it was a

great trip – the staff LOVED her and would give her treats anytime she

passed through the lobby. The hotel also provide bowls, beds and other pet

amenities you may have forgotten at home. Walking around the neighborhood

(Dupont Circle) with her was like walking with a celebrity – mostly due to

the young people who occupy the neighborhood (my guess is that many of them

love dogs but don’t have time for one).

DC itself is a great walking city. The weather was nice when we were there,

so our dog got to stay outside with us when we ate at the restaurants with

outside seating. She also enjoyed our daily walks up to Dupont Circle [the

roundabout that was up the street from the hotel].

holiday pet friendly lodging

Perhaps you are going to visit family and friends this Thanksgiving and have all your arrangements made. If not, and you want to take your furry friends with you and are looking for some pet friendly possibilities, you might consider visiting one of the places or venues below…

Note: Cici and I have NOT visited any of these venues so we cannot recommend whether they are truly pet friendly with Dogitude or simply pet tolerant…If you go, please let us know. We have visited various Red Roof Inns and can say that they are pet friendly, in that they do NOT charge fees for pets and they do not offer amenities. They are affordable and do NOT limit pets by breed or weight.

New Hampshire

New Hampshire is considered a very “pet friendly” state; and has many lodging places that

roll out the red carpet for dogs at any time of year. Here are some

suggestions:

The Inns and Spa at Mill Falls http://millfalls.com/index.htm,

Meredith, NH – This vacation destination on the shores of Lake

Winnipesaukee, has all the perks of a pet-friendly environment that

allows guests to not only bring their furry friend along, but also

provides several amenities :

Pet Friendly Rooms and Service at Church Landing and The Inn at Mill

Falls <http://millfalls.com/inns/pet_friendly.htm> :

Upon checkin at the Mill Falls Inns, pets are greeted with a special

dog or cat treat and a personalized sign for being such a “good boy or girl” on

the trip. Pets and guests are then shown to a room that comes equipped

with a special pet bed, a water and food bowl, a blanket to sit on if

they are allowed on the couch, a kitty litter box for cat-friendly rooms

and a special bag filled with treats and a map of the walking trails

that Fido can meet and play with new friends. After a day filled with

either swimming in Lake Winnipesaukee or walking along its beautiful

shores, both pet and owner can book a massage appointment at the Cascade

Spa <http://millfalls.com/cascade_spa/index.htm> at Church Landing!

Small animal practitioner DeAnne M. Racz provides soothing cat or dog

specific massages. In addition, pet sitting and veterinary information

are both readily available at the front desk.

*While The Inns charge a $25 fee per pet for pet specific rooms, $10 of

that fee goes to the New Hampshire Humane Society to aid in the rescue

and care of animals that have been abused, neglected or abandoned. The

Inns and Spa at Mill Falls have contributed a total of $8,990 to the New

Hampshire Humane Society since 2008.

The Lazy Dog Inn http://www.lazydoginn.com/, Chocorua, New Hampshire

was Voted “Most Pet Friendly B&B in North America,” this inn provides guests and their dogs traditional New England comforts in a historically rich 160-year-old farmhouse. Golden Girls

The Notchland Inn http://www.notchland.com/welcome.html, Hart’s

Location, NH, The Notchland Inn occupies a granite manor house,

completed in 1862, within the White Mountain National Forest with

sixteen individually appointed guestrooms with woodburning fireplaces.

The inn serves a 5-course dinner and full country breakfast in the

fireplaced dining room overlooking the pond and gardens. The COTTAGES

are the Inn’s newest accommodations and pets are welcome. The cottages

offer the Inn’s perks and atmosphere while affording more independence

for guests.

Village House Bed and Breakfast http://www.villagehouse.com/,

Jackson, NH, The Village House Inn is home to the Yellow Snow Dog Gear

(collar and lead manufacturing company), in a three story home that

offers accommodations with the carefree ambiance of visiting a well

loved relative. It is located just through the covered bridge in Jackson

Village on six acres of rolling green lawns overlooking the White

Mountains. The owners of the inn also manufacture dog collars and leads

right on the property. Their understanding and interest in dogs led them

to welcome well behaved dogs into Village House. Guest comment: “Our dog

got to play with her dog in training (they have a nice big run out

back). We chatted with another couple there and everyone had a dog.”

Arizona

Hotel Valley Ho in Downtown Scottsdale, Arizona is a pet-friendly hotel, where pets stay for free. it’s a great dog food life….

well, for two years, apparently, cici and i have been flirting with this dog food… they are located in Carson City, Nevada, where I lived for six years and did not know about them… had to leave, go far away to california to find out about them…

first, we were in a pet food store in carmel, where cici was given some treats, and recently, we were given a huge bag of raw venison kibble… now this ain’t your grocery store brand crappy dog food… they don’t even use potatoes in their grain free dog food because of the high glycemic level, worse than sugar, and leads to dog diabetes…

Great Life uses tapioca and jicama- two fine ingredients to help aid digestion and have beneficial fiber.

anyway, the proof is in the dog food… cici scarfed it all up, she loved this food… yummmy in her silly pink tummy…. what i also found unique is that the ingredients are raw but in a kibble… huh… interesting…

cici did not try the canned food, but it comes it delicious sounding flavors such as chicken parmagiana (cici lOVes pizza), beef wellington, irish lamb stew, baby back ribs and more and all are organic and priced similar to other canned dog foods we use.

here’s an article about dog food from the vet Dr. Elliot Harvey himself who has created these find dog foods…

enjoy, woof !!!

Now that you have all your travel tips, from road tripping to flying with your dog, where do you go? Well, we’re glad you asked. With a couple of clicks of the mouse on the Web, you can find all kinds of destinations that are pet-friendly. Depending on what your preference is, from the big city to the great outdoors, there is something for everyone.

For those with stars in their eyes, you can take Spot to visit his favorite movie star in Hollywood. You and your dog will enjoy a self-guided walk through the Star’s Homes. Not much of an infatuation with the stars … how about a shopping trip? In Hollywood, California, some shops in Beverly Hills will allow well-behaved, leashed dogs to visit their clothing shops. If that’s not quite what you had in mind, but you want to provide some culture and refinement: how about a trip to Napa Valley? Napa Valley of course, famous for the vineyards, is also pet-friendly. Vineyards such as Beringer Vineyard, Sullivan Vineyards and many others, welcome dogs on the grounds and some even in the tasting room, but be sure to do your research before leaving home. In addition to the fabulous vineyards, Old Faithful Geyser and the Petrified Forest are great places to enjoy with Spot.

For the city travelers …. be sure to travel to Chicago and visit Shakespeare Garden at Northwestern University for a nice walk, or attend a baseball game for Dog Day at the Park. On a Sunday afternoon take a Canine Cruise with Mercury Skyline Cruiseline. Catering specifically to you and your dogs, this cruise highlights downtown Chicago landmarks.

Still looking for more … off to New York City you go to visit the Statue of Liberty. Then take a stroll down the many avenues and dine at an outdoor restaurant such as Barking Dog Luncheonette or Grey Dog Café. Have you both eaten too much? No problem, give Pet Taxi or Pet Chauffeur a call to take you to your next destination or to your pet-friendly hotel for the day.

Okay, so none of that is really what you are looking for, so here are some basic cool places to go with your dog. We’re sure he’ll love it! It’s cheap, usually generally accessible and you always have it available. Yes, it’s the great OUTDOORS! Typically the backyard, local park or maybe even a state park, are places you would take your dog to visit. Have you ever thought about how your dog might like to see the Wild West? Yellowstone? The Grand Canyon? Rocky Mountains? By doing some simple research you can easily find state or national parks that have paths specifically designed for you and your dog. You will want to make sure to plan ahead, as there are still some areas where your dog is not allowed.

Some additional tips to keep in mind, while traveling with your dog can be a wonderful experience, always remember to be a responsible dog owner. Always keep clean up baggies with you and clean up after your dog. Your dog should always be on a leash for his safety and your well being. So get out there and enjoy the city life or great outdoors with man’s best friend!

working dogs… give that dog a job…

this is such a fun photo of a dog that looks like Cici cleaning up … hah…

my girl was showing off her belly at the bank again today. She thinks banks are the best places for treats, belly rubs and lots of attention. Her favorite bank branch is the one in Medford, Oregon and second place is the one in Carson City, Nevada where the bank employees love her, too.

what, customer service and the power of choice…

customer service, the operative word being customer, when did the customer stop being right and start being nickeled and dimed and treated badly by the hospitality industry and others?

Stephanie was telling me how she was woken up by a customer at 5 am who wanted to stay at the motel. The customer rightly wanted a discount at that early hour. Stephanie offered them a late checkout until 2 pm with a fee. Not exactly what the customer wanted. The customer was from Nevada and decided to stay somewhere else.  Good for the customer.

Now admittedly, Nevadans are spoiled by hotel casinos going the extra mile, giving comps and discounts and great prices (usually)… AND this is the first time I have ever heard of a late checkout fee.  I usually opt to stay until noon or 1 pm and have NEVER been charged a fee for checking out late.

Excuse me, hotel and motel owners, who is paying your employee’s salaries and who is paying your profits???  Your customers. And if you don’t treat your customers right, you won’t have any customers sooner or later.

Yesterday, I talked with Wyndham Rewards… I’ve spent $1,000+ on motels in the last month or so and they are supposed to credit me with points so that I get free rooms… yeah, right… ok, at least the program does not cost anything but when I asked if my stays were recorded they told me that the stay I had a few nights ago is not in their system yet, it takes 10 days. Ok.  Then I stayed at one motel in Medford, Oregon for ten nights and the guy tells me that doesn’t count because I used a coupon… so what I still spent $500 there that should count for something. It is really starting to annoy me that you spend so much money on these places and they don’t feel any obligation to give you anything, not even a decent room.

Maybe I am spoiled. The hotel casinos in Nevada do give great deals and they do that because people spend so much money gambling… so why then when I called one hotel casino in Oregon, they wanted $89 a night…do customers have to go to Nevada for fabulous rooms and great service, and forget the rest of the country???

Wise up, people. In this economy and even when times are good, people want the MOST bang for their buck. And your bad attitudes and cheapskate ways are gonna lose you customers. It’s just business. Plain and simple reality. And dog owners are going to revolt, too. Who wants to be charged $5, 10, 25 or $50 extra a night to bring along Fido or Fluffy?

and who wants to spend $28-50+ on a dog’s own hotel suite if the service is not superb ?

customers have the power of choice… if you could choose between a motel that does not give you the amenities that it tells you it has, is rude, and the place smells, and a motel that is clean, fresh and homey, both for the same price, $50-55 a night with dog?  (crown pacific vs. captain cook inn, both in Lincoln City, Oregon), where would you stay?  no brainer, right… I chose Captain Cook Inn… and I figure if one motel can offer a great room and service for $54 a night, then so can the others.

on the road again with your pup…

having had five hours (barely) sleep at this motel in Florence, Oregon, i am cranky… and decided that i am going to put my crankiness to productive use and name names of the crappiest motels I’ve ever stayed in, as a warning to you, dear readers.  Run do not walk away from these places or get your money back…

and why does it seem that too many Visitor Center employees are rude?  aren’t they supposed to be paid friendly, kind and helpful???

for instance, the Visitor’s Center in Bodega Bay has a very cranky old lady there who got annoyed because I asked her a few questions…  she is NOT doing her job, fire her !!!

now the Visitor’s Center folks in Medford and in Ashland, OR were wonderful, for the most part and the Visitor’s welcome centers in Yucca Valley, CA and Barstow, CA are really great… as are most of the visitor center folks in Laughlin and Jean, NV

a word about budget motels… this is any motel under $100 these days.  Now as far as I am concerned, $50-70 is not so budget, $50 a night is $350 a week or $1,400 a month, when you can rent a place for $600-800 a month, $50 a night is not budget…  now $10-30 is budget… and even so, if some innkeepers can provide a DECENT room for that price, then so can others…  I don’t think that it is too much to ask for a motel for $50-70 to provide a decent room that is CLEAN, quiet, without bugs, fleas or other creatures, has amenities that work, like showers and toilets, does not smell, is nontoxic, etc. But apparently, some innkeepers provide crappy motel service and icky rooms and don’t mind charging for the bad experience.

The designation AAA approved apparently also does not mean anything anymore either so don’t be fooled. The motel we stayed at last night is supposed to be that.  And I even looked at the room and thought it looked decent but I was wrong.

A couple of years ago, i stayed in Jean, Nevada, about 20 minutes south of Las Vegas at the Whiskey Pete’s and Nevada Landing (NL is closed now), for $20-22 a night, that’ s right, in 2006 i used to book rooms in casinos (pre-Cici)… with Travelworm (the regular rack rate was $27 a night)… they do not take pets. The rooms were not luxury suites but for the most part, they were decent, as were most of the casino rooms I stayed at in both Jean, Primm, Mesquite and Laughlin, Nevada.  Yes, casinos offer great incentives such as cheap rooms and cheap food so that you will gamble your money away while you stay there. And they give comps too if you do.  And who else can compete?  Well, i think that if one motel can provide decent accommodation at an affordable price then so can others… period end of story.

it seems like any motel in or near Sacramento is the pits, the best place I stayed nearby was the Red Roof Inn in Rancho Cordova, but I went to a few other motels and blah, ick, eeewww… need I say more? and why is this????
i stayed at your motel and paid a few hundred dollars or $50 for one night and all I got was this lousy shampoo, body lotion or pastry…  orange juice, coffee, donuts and english muffins do not a continental breakfast make… how about some fresh fruit you cheapskates for $80 a night, give me SOMETHING TO TAKE HOME ….

Top Ten Worst Motels on the Face of the Planet

1. Edgewater Hotel and Casino, Laughlin, NV, registration was a pain, I had to wait until 3 pm (never a problem anywhere else if i arrived early), after 3 pm, the room was still not ready, the people at the front desk were rude, and the room when it was supposed to be ready was not exactly clean, i yelled a lot and got a comp, $50 worth of food that i had to use all that same day, i ate in the restaurant and threw up all night, the maid threw away all of my shampoo, toothbrush, and other supplies because i traveled light, without luggage, and she thought that i checked out, so they comped me for the replacement of these items…   I would definitely never stay there nor at the River Palms, who were rude on Xmas day… my favorite places bar none in Laughlin are Harrah’s and the Ramada Express…  they do not allow pets though…

2. Blu Lite or Ripon Motel in Ripon, CA, back when i had my kitty cat Precious, who was the worst furry traveler ever, he cried the entire time i drove, we had the misfortune of stopping in this tiny town. I paid for the room, started to bring Precious inside and was told they do not allow pets and not only that but the guy would not give me my money back. I was exhausted and spent half the night in my car trying to console my cat.  There is no reason to make people miserable. People make mistakes, why would you want to make an unhappy customer even unhappier by forcing them to pay and stay???

3. Motel 6′s used to be a good bargain place to stay.  In a few locations, they still are pretty good but $50 a night is not such a bargain. Anyway, the Carson City, NV location is decent so is Ukiah, CA but some are decidedly not…  I did write to the corporate folks because of the locations below and did get comped for a few nights.  There are others in cities that i would not even consider staying at. Why doesn’t Motel 6 provide decent accommodations for an affordable price anymore???  They charge an extra $3 a day now for wireless internet, don’t have refrigerators in the rooms nor free breakfast and jack the rates on the weekends, holidays and in the summer.

Motel 6, Eureka, CA just plain stinks… the room was dirty, nothing worked in the room and when I complained, I got attitude. At least, they gave me my money back.

Motel 6, 29 Palms, used to be decent, but last time we were there was awful, bed bugs, noisy and not a great experience

Motel 6, Marina and Watsonville, CA, I was disappointed in the Marina because i had stayed there before and it was nice, but when I went back last year, i could not find a clean room, and finally settled for one i was not thrilled with.  Watsonville is just plain NOISY.

Motel 6, Gilroy, used to be good but seems to be going downhill.

4. Budget Inn, off the 101, i never stayed here but i went there once when i was looking for a motel and it was JUST PLAIN DIRTY, i got my money back and left

5. Monterey Surf Motel, Monterey, CA, it was a hassle checking in with the dog and then the bathroom was not working properly and i woke up with bed bug bites, and they were rude about it all … recently, i stayed at the El Adobe Inn for $70 which was ok and I would stay there again… but affordable motels in Monterey are getting hard to come by…  The Motel 6 is pricey and it was decent, i used one of my comp nights there…

6. Old Towne Inn, Florence, OR, the kid at the front desk does not have a clue about anything, cannot breathe due to stuff some places like this one use on the carpet, ugh, I was itchy all night, it was too hot, then too cold when he opened the window, i could not get a phone call through and he told me he did not know what to do, finally i suggested that he make the call for me which he did, but it was noisy and they have a million rules about pets, made me give them a credit card in case my dog did something terrible, ok, some pet owners make it bad for the rest of us by letting their pets go nuts in motel rooms, tearing up the places,  you cannot bring your pet traveling and leave it alone in a strange place, duh…

7.  Two motels in Laughlin, NV or Bullhead City AZ, for new years eve, i had to pay $100 for this DUMP because there was no other possibility… but the      Lodge On The River had fleas and seemed dusty

8.   El Rancho Delores motel in 29 Palms, CA, have had mixed experiences here, some good, one really bad, there was a rat or squirrel in my room, ick eeewww, need i say more?  stay at the Best Western or the Roughley Manor B&B

9.  Avi casino, Laughlin, NV, it was ok, but saw a bug or two

10. Aquarius, Laughlin NV

there were bedbugs, they took photos of the bites, red itchy welts i woke up with and they asked me a lot of questions and had me sign waivers (in case i decided to sue them afterwards)… i did not want a comp, why would i ever stay there again?

you are now warned… beware… and if any of the innkeepers at any of the above motels want their guests to have a good experience and are willing to take care of the problems, in other words, take responsibility, please let me know and I will let my readers know that you have repented and seen the light !   on the road again with your pup…

http://www.thepetcenter.com/gen/travdog.html

from the sublime to the ridiculous… paid $30 a night at the vet hospital for boarding cici in a cage, now these pet hotels charge $40-100 a night for pet lodging, cage free suites…  so if these places are good enough for the dog, they might consider having motels that are decent for humans, too !!!

if you’re happy and you know it, wag your tail…

after cici played with pongo her lookalike doggie boyfriend and a few other dogs at the dog park, we discovered a wonderful pet place … it is located right in the same mall as the grocery store, Raley’s, on south Carson (395) where I shop almost every day.  the pet place is called sierra lebone… the owner,Lynda, is very friendly, knowledgeable and a true dog lover. I called her because I wanted to check out the pet food and then I found out that they were having a free dog training class which they do almost every Saturday from 9-10 am.

http://www.sierralebone.com/

cici was treated like a queen.  Lynda and the trainer, barbara, were very loving towards her. cici has never been in a situation where she had to be around dogs but not play with them, so it was challenging for her, we stood in lines and walked the dogs around a ring, like show dogs. it was already very hot at 9:30 am.  barbara told me to correct cici whenever she tried to lick the other dogs and she was also being very vocal.  cici got a lot of treats and a few applauses for being a good girl. after class, i was a little woozy from the heat and received a few samples to take home. we went back in the late afternoon for some dog food and got some California Natural food which i have not tried before. Also, got some samples of Honest Kitchen Thrive, Embark, and Force as well as Innova Evo, Evanger, Wenaewe and some Wagatha and other healthy treats.

the store has an abundance of delicious wheat free food, treats, raw foods, and all kinds of pet supplies from beds to leashes, collars and toys. And they are going to be offering dog massage and other services soon.

http://www.sierralebone.com/

Everyone loves Cici and she’s a happy girl. She scarfed up some of the new food and keeps looking for more. that’s my girl…(not the photo, just thought this is a cute photo of a girl with her dog)…

The other day Rachael Ray made some dog cakes that she makes for Isaboo, her dog… the recipe was interesting…

doggie cakes

rice
chicken broth
turkey bacon crumbled up
eggs
bread crumbs
make into cakes and bake them
