jelly bellies and puppy dogs…

Jelly Bean Tour
in between lodi and napa, in fairfield, you can take the free jelly belly tour in fairfield, it was fun… the robots sang a little song, and they gave out free samples, there was an art gallery of mosaic murals made out of jelly beans, the tour is great for kids, to teach them math, colors and business in a cool way… there is even a dog walk area outside with a fake hydrant, no dogs on the tour… what’s your favorite flavor?

Pet food
on the way north on the 29 right before leaving napa, i discovered that there is a shopping mall with trader joe’s, whole foods, target, copperfield’s book store and pet food express, which offers very healthy pet food including raw food, freeze dried dehydrated raw food, grain free brands and more for cats and dogs.

Rancho Caymus

ahhhh… lovely inn in rutherford, located in between yountville and st helena and next door to several wineries… this is a very convenient location for wine tasters since this is in the middle of the wine country area. we had our own kind of private casita suite, with its own little patio for cici and I to enjoy, looking out over the parking lot, a kiva fireplace, plus individual temperature control and two shower heads in the bathroom, very nice… basically, a very large room with desk, fridge, coffeemaker, a cozy nook to look out onto the patio, southwestern decor, comfy couch that cici enjoyed sleeping on, tv, free wireless internet, phone and clock radio… there is also an honor bar of snacks with a price list.

as a guest, you also receive a complimentary wine tasting at flora springs winery in st. helena about 3-4 miles north on the 29.

to satisfy your sweet tooth, there are tasty chewy cookies 24/7 at the front desk in the lobby… breakfast was continental with fresh fruits, yogurt, real granola and other cereals, breads, croissants, pastries, muffins, hard boiled eggs, juices, coffee, teas, and hot chocolate.

26 suites, the rancho caymus is pet friendly, on a case by case basis. Call ahead.

no pet amenities… pet fee is $25.

there is a central courtyard with fountain and a little market across the street. next door on the 128, is a house with a funny looking yappy dog in a dress in the yard, and the house next to that has a big huge mastiff mixed with doberman in the yard.
