tis the season to be jolly, kind and generous, right. well, I know that this is probably not politically correct to say to animal lovers but why does it seem sometimes that people who profess to care about animals are cruel to humans?
I was jerked around last night and today by someone dedicated and committed to caring for animals. I did not deserve to be treated in such a manner. I was kind and generous to this person so to be treated like this was hurtful. I know that I have issues about value and worth and deserving that still need to be healed and so I will continue my healing process.
I realize that most people are self-involved, busy running around working and shopping, but none of that is an excuse.
People deserve the same kindness, consideration and thoughtfulness as animals. Even those who are different, overweight, the ‘wrong’ race, gender, or religion. I don’t think that God discriminates against people but people certainly do.
Treat people as you wish to be treated is the Golden Rule. If you are in the habit of jerking people around and then wonder why people treat you like a jerk, it is time to stop and look within.
Animals can be sweet, loving, awesome companions and when I was crying, Cici was right by my side, giving me kisses. Even though my crankiness affected her, too. She did not hesitate to comfort me.
We can learn a lot from our furry friends and maybe learn how to treat one another with love and caring and comfort, too.
