BSL: Anti-Dog Legislation

Breed Specific Legislation is Anti-Dog Legislation

New info about Lennox, dog has about 10 days…

when there is fraud, perjury in Ireland, it is a condition for automatic dismissal and release, which means that Lennox should be set free asap… not sure how to proceed but hopefully someone in the know does…

Pit bull owners love their dogs and are often dismayed, outraged and / or disgusted with how their dogs are portrayed in the media and by some government officials. And with the onslaught of breed bans in various countries and cities, entire families have been disrupted, forced to move and/or give up their beloved family member. The cost/price of breed bans far outweighs its usefulness and effectiveness, which has been proven to NOT do what it is supposed to do… another George Orwellian tune in our modern repertoire… safety/security are usually code words for fear mongering and hysteria based on emotional responses to situations involving irresponsible dog owners. When society and government try to control people instead of getting to the root cause of the problem, disaster strikes and hurts everyone involved. And costs a lot of needless money, too.

how attacks by pit bulls (or dogs) are used by politicians for their own agendas

works both ways , SF dog owners carry a lot of clout and plan to use it in the upcoming mayoral race… formed their own PAC…

It almost seems that the powers that be are doing everything possible to break up our homes and lives and are using discrimination, lies, propaganda and fear to do it… lack of jobs, foreclosed homes, financial insecurity for the 99% while the 1% get richer and more and more out of touch with reality (as evidenced by the GOP presidential candidates).

As much as the elite like to disconnect everything from one another, to divide in order to conquer, methinks that all is connected to one another… we are ONE human race on ONE planet… and these seemingly unrelated problems all stem from ONE cause… our disconnection from the divine. For putting GREED at the Head of our Government/Lives. What if we were all to honor and respect ALL Life, human and animal and planet, then NONE of the abuses we see happening and are in the midst of could happen. Millions of healthy pets would not be put to sleep, breed bans would not be viable, ALL people would have homes, jobs, food and more… for the HIGHEST GOOD of ALL. And we would live in PEACE NOT WAR/TERROR.

So when people say it’s just a dog… or just a bunch of unemployed, lazy college students with nothing better to do than go to Wall Street or your town/city, please know that these are ALL connected… WE are ALL connected. No matter how much they try to tear us apart WE are ALL ONE… So it is Wise to Become Part of the Solution.

Hint:  If you are disconnected, disassociated, isolated, distracted, numb, don’t want to be bothered or concerned, not your brothers keeper, NIMBY, are skeptical, annoyed and/or apathetic to the point of giving up your rights (voting and otherwise), then you are part of the problem not the solution. If you are actively engaged, talking about, protesting on Wall Street or other places, even online, helping others have a better life (including animals), then you are part of the Solution. Good Job !

Some context/perspective:

First they ignore you,
then they laugh at you,
then they fight you,
then you win.
Mohandas Gandhi
All truth passes through three stages:
First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
Arthur Schopenhauer
The bottom line is that if you become a master at handling problems and overcoming obstacles, what can stop you from success? The answer is nothing! And if nothing can stop you, you become unstoppable!

Eckhart Tolle

Dear Friends, “There is a crack, a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.” (Leonard Cohen) A crack could be anything that “goes wrong” in your life — in relationships, finances, work, health, etc. First you suffer, then (potentially), you let go of your attachments. And so you are forced to go deeper within, to a place of peace and silent power. By the way: it’s only when you are not attached to anything, that you truly appreciate everything. Be well, be at peace. Eckhart Tolle

When we can observe what is happening in our world, witness what is going on from a higher perspective, we are part of the light solution/truth revolution. The old world is crashing around us to become new. So that liberty and freedom and justice for ALL can become TRUE, not just a bunch of words.

This cannot happen when we distance ourselves to cut ourselves off, but to see the forest from the trees. When we fight reality, what we do not want persists. When we can observe, processing our emotions along the way, forgive, let go of our expectations and outcomes, we can come to peace with what is going on and know that All is Working Out for the Highest Good (not always according to how we think things should be). Does it always seem fair or just? No. And it will all work itself out in the wash. This does not mean to STOP. Speak truth, live truth, BE the CHANGE you want to see in the world.

It is very sad that a dog named Lennox who is not a pit bull but a therapy dog to a young girl has been sentenced to death in Belfast, northern Ireland.  What is tragic is that an animal rescue organization, the ONLY bully breed animal rescue in ALL of Ireland, East Galway, offered to help from the beginning but the owners went a different route. Without the owners cooperation, there was nothing they could do, they said. The offer still stands. They were able to rescue another dog named Bruce last year.  Apparently, the family says that they need a legal loophole and are trying to find a lawyer in northern Ireland to help them.

Deadline for appeal: 21st October 2011

  1. I believe that BSL is un-American. It negates choice. It fosters stereotypes. It punishes dogs that have done nothing wrong, while allowing those who train them to be vicious get a mere slap on the wrist, if anything at all. Training? What about abuse? People are willing to kill dogs because of the way they “look” or stories they’ve heard or read, but don’t seem to care at the inhuman abuse meted out to these animals. Killing a dog because it looks like the kind of dog that could hurt someone is on the level of people who want to kill others because of their sexual orientation or the color of their skin. Why not kill ALL dogs–you never know when one might suddenly go off its nut and attack. In fact, why not kill all living creatures…you never know…
